Oregon Plant Named Business of the Month
Los Angeles, Calif.; Oct. 5, 2011—JM Eagle’s manufacturing plant located in Umatilla, Ore., also known as the McNary plant, has been named the October Business of the Month by the Greater Hermiston Chamber of Commerce.
Selected for its longstanding support of the Chamber, the plant will be honored at a Business to Business breakfast Oct. 25 with a plaque and an opportunity to make a presentation about the company. It marks the first time the company has been awarded this distinction.
“We’re happy to support the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce, and appreciate this recognition,” said McNary Plant Manager Will Clark. “It is a privilege to serve the group, as well as reap the benefits of its networking activities.”
The McNary plant is one of 22 in North America owned by JM Eagle, the world’s leading manufacturer of plastic pipe. The particular plant makes PVC pipe products for waterworks and plumbing and irrigation.
The JM Eagle McNary plant has always supported the community. In the last few months, the plant sponsored the ceremony for the Umatilla Basin Aquifer Restoration Project and hosted the Business to Business Hermiston Chamber Luncheon on site at the outside grounds of the plant, which included a plant tour for more than 75 people.
In addition, the plant sponsored a large exhibit at the Umatilla County Fair, a county function located in Hermiston, and it donated more than 5,000 pieces of 1-inch PVC pipe for flag poles at the Patriot Day “Field of Flags” Memorial, held Sept. 8-11 in Salem, Ore., which honored the Sept. 11 tragedy’s victims and the nation’s service men and women who have put their lives at risk to keep America safe. As the Chamber’s Business of the Month, the McNary plant will also receive recognition on the home page of the Chamber’s website and Facebook page, announcements on the local radio station, and a mention Chamber’s on-hold message. A Q&A profile will also be featured on the Business of the Month page at www.hermistonchamber.com. The Oct. 25 breakfast at which JM Eagle will be honored will also be attended by local State Representative Greg Smith.
